2011 Game #2 Milwaukee Brewers at Minnesota Twins
Final Score: Brewers 8, Twins 7
Hot Dog ("Big Dog") - 5/5
Tonight was our third night and second game in the wonderful city of Minneapolis. In honor of the occasion, we rated a second hot dog at Target Field (check the Hot Dog page for details). Also in honor of the occasion, we gave the visiting Brewers permission to win a game in dramatic fashion.
Yes, this was shaping up to be a blowout. The Twins were dominant most of the game and had their closer in with a three-run lead. I had the camera ready (with the telephoto lens) and trained at the scoreboard to capture the lit-up "win" in "Twins" once the final out was made.
Next thing you know? The Brew Crew come roaring back and take the lead in the top of the ninth in dramatic fashion. (If you think about it, these things always happen in dramatic fashion. I mean, how can a team come back in ordinary fashion, anyway? But I digress...)
The game was a fun one and we're both glad we did a second game here in Minneapolis. Had we not, we would have missed Target Field's mid-game scoreboard race ("Bullseye" the Target mascot dog beat out a fish and alien-thing). We also wouldn't have learned that visiting mascot "Bernie Brewer" only has three fingers. Sorry, no photo on that one, you'll have to believe us. Lastly, we wouldn't be able to say that we were in attendance for the largest regular-season crowd in Target Field's history.
Good times, people. Good times.
-Rich (& Karyn)
