2008 Game #2 Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets
Final Score: Mets 6, Phillies 3
The last time I was at Shea Stadium (with Tony, Jen, and her family a long time ago), there wasn't an immense, hulking new ballpark looking over its shoulder.
We enjoyed a pretty good game at this aging park as a very good Phillies team lost to the Mets.
The ballpark is fairly open on the inside concourse, and, while its views aren't spectacular, the park does have some character. The classic red "Big Apple" pops up for home runs and the color bands on seats is reminiscent of Dodger Stadium. (Note: The fans were at least as colorful as the seats.)
And of course, the airplanes.
Shea, set to be demolished at the end of the season gave us a nice baseball experience.
